the anti-reproductive rights movement is rape culture | erica, ascendant

I usually don’t reblog when there are significant formatting issues or spelling, grammar, punctuation and sentence structure errors, but this is an impassioned piece that deserves to be shared.

…there’s nothing “pro-life” about how much American society fails children who aren’t born into privilege. there’s nothing “pro-life” about how American society treats single mothers, and there’s nothing “pro-life” whatsoever about what happens when abortion becomes restricted or illegal, as that quite literally kills. banning, or significantly restricting, abortion is violence against people with uteri.

This reply came in today, and is being posted simply so I can talk about it.

asdffasd at fdsafasdf@asdfasdf.com says: LEARN TO CLOSE YOUR LEGS, YOU STUPID WHORE!

This is the typical reaction of the women haters. They enjoy calling women whores, telling them to shut their legs, and completely missing the point of reproductive rights and rights to bodily autonomy. They can’t even formulate any argument against it, so have to resort to this. Sad, really. (And the fact that the commenter is a coward is self evident.)
